GRAND Reduces ER Visits by 93% with MyCare Technologies
GRAND Mental Health has been able to reduce ER visits by 93% through the use of MyCare Technologies. Although many police officers have had crisis intervention training, police officers aren’t trained mental health professionals.
Prior to using MyCare, law enforcement had two options when encountering someone in a mental health crisis: take them in for inpatient hospitalization or arrest them. With the addition of crisis and urgent care facilities, along with the use of MyCare tablets, crisis intervention can be handled in the least restrictive ways possible.
GRAND is able to reduce ER visits by equipping local law enforcement with MyCare Technologies, allowing officers to connect someone in a mental health crisis with a licensed, professional behavioral therapist on staff.
