CarePath Behavioral Health is finding new ways to bring behavioral health support directly to young people in the communities it serves.

Through recent initiatives with Escambia County Schools and Reid State Community College, CarePath is embracing MyCare  as a way to extend the reach of its behavioral health professionals beyond traditional clinical settings and into places where students spend their days.

Bringing Behavioral Health Support Into Escambia County Schools

CarePath recently announced the donation of MyCare Crisis units to 13 locations within Escambia County Schools, creating another avenue for students to connect with behavioral health professionals when they need support. The units will help provide quick, accessible care to students.

With the press of a button, MyCare can connect a student with an experienced CarePath behavioral health professional through secure video. It’s an approach that allows technology to complement the behavioral health resources already available within schools while providing an additional connection to care when an on-site professional may not be available.

The initiative was made possible in partnership with Escambia County Schools Superintendent Dr. Michele W. Collier and CarePath Children’s Services Director Sonya Hadaway.

Extending Access to the College Campus

CarePath is also using MyCare to reach students beyond the K–12 setting.

In August 2026, CarePath partnered with Reid State Community College in Evergreen, Alabama to place a MyCare Crisis Response unit on campus, giving students immediate virtual access to licensed behavioral health professionals.

The unit allows campus staff to connect a student experiencing a behavioral health crisis with CarePath professionals who can provide crisis stabilization, mental health evaluation and consultation.

“Mental health challenges can affect anyone, and they often occur without warning,” said Dr. Coretta Boykin, President of Reid State Community College. “Having immediate access to behavioral health professionals allows us to respond quickly and compassionately while ensuring our students receive the support they need.”

Using Technology to Meet Young People Where They Are

Together, the initiatives at Reid State and Escambia County Schools demonstrate how CarePath is using technology to create new points of access to behavioral health care for young people.

Instead of requiring every connection to begin inside a behavioral health facility, MyCare allows CarePath’s clinicians to extend their reach into schools, campuses and other community settings.

For students, that can mean fewer barriers between recognizing a need for help and connecting with someone qualified to provide it.

“As our organization continues to improve access to behavioral health services, we are intentional in ensuring educational spaces have the resources and training they need to support their students through mental wellness,” said Robert Brewer, Chief Clinical Officer for CarePath Behavioral Health, in announcing the Reid State partnership.

It’s a philosophy closely aligned with the purpose behind MyCare: using technology to bring behavioral health professionals closer to the people who need them, wherever they may be.

As CarePath continues finding new ways to reach children, young adults and families throughout its communities, MyCare Technologies is proud to provide a tool that helps extend those connections beyond the walls of a traditional clinic.
